  • ANZAC Portrait Series – Keith Bowly – Part 2

    Artist Wayne Dowsent’s latest ANZAC Portrait is of Airman Keith Bowly ‘The Caterpillar Club’. Keith sailed from Australia to England and was posted with the 429th Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force. On his seventeenth bombing mission over Europe Keith and his crew were shot down over Luxemburg by German night fighter ace Martin Becker. Keith was captured and transported to Stalag Luft 1, the German Prisoner of War camp at Barth near the Baltic sea.The camp was liberated by the Russian Army on the 13/5/1945.
