PAINTING FOR KIRRILLY – The Magnificent 5
This is a painting for Kirrilly. It is her Husband Tim and his Father and three brothers…the Magnificent five! That’s what artist Wayne calls it anyway!!
Part 1 of Leonard Raliegh Shannon.
Len joined the 9th Australian Ligh Horse, 12th Reinforcement Group, 24th August 1915. Returned on 23rd Sept,1919. Len joined as a Private and became a Lance Coporal and he served under Brigadier General Royston in Palestine.
XC FALCON COBRA ANIMATION
Artist Wayne has found some XC Cobra animation which was thought to be long lost. The animation in question was discovered deep within Wayne’s computer archives!!…enjoy.
In 1978, Ford Australia unveiled plans for an all-new Falcon, dubbed the XD, that would be released in 1979. Unlike the current XC, the new model would be offered only as a four-door sedan or station wagon, meaning the last 400 two-door XC Hardtops of 1978 would be the last of that design, rather than scrapping them The cars were painted white and finished with bright blue racing stripes and “Cobra” emblems, a throwback to Carroll Shelby’s Mustangs of the 1960s that made the car easily identifiable as a Ford muscle car.
Wayne and Jacqui arrive in Camooweal to visit their good friends Graeme and Sue, who own the Camooweal Post Office.Camping by the beautiful Georgina River our two adventurers enjoyed the fantastic country atmosphere of the annual Drovers Camp and the Camooweal races!
Camooweal is a small town in north-western Queensland, Australia, located 188 km north-west of the city of Mount Isa and 12 km east of the Northern Territory border. The road through Camooweal to the Northern Territory was the inland defence route for World War II. This road was built by army engineers and carried over 1000 vehicles a day and there are numerous historical sites marked along the road.
Artist Wayne has just finished a painting which is influenced by his trip to Northern Queensland…especially the beautiful country town of Aramac.
Aramac is a small town in Central West Queensland, Australia, lying 68 kilometres north of Barcaldine. It is situated on Aramac Creek, which flows into the Thomson River 60 kilometres west of town.
The predominant industry is grazing. The town water for Aramac is supplied from two bores connecting into the Great Artesian Basin.
Artist Wayne has created his first 3-D fighter plane, and what better plane to start with than the famous North American P-51! Not only that, but it’s been mapped as “Big Beautiful Doll” which was flown by “ace” Colonel John Landers, “Old Crow” flown by Triple Ace Clarence E. “Bud” Anderson and “Cripes A Mighty” which was flown by Major George E. Preddy.
Jacqui and I hit Mount Isa! We had a wonderful time at Lake Moondarra and explored mount Isa town for a few days!
Mount Isa is a city in the Gulf Country region of Queensland, Australia. It came into existence because of the vast mineral deposits found in the area. Mount Isa Mines is one of the most productive single mines in world history, based on combined production of lead, silver, copper and zinc.
